Your guide to Australia's best psychedelic arts and electronic music festivals.

The Best Doof is a Safe Doof

We all love the energy of a good beat under the open sky, but let's ensure the only reason paramedics hit the dance floor is to join in the fun. Prioritize your wellbeing and that of your mates by gearing up appropriately for a multi-day camping experience in the breathtaking landscapes of rural Australia. Celebrate responsibly and remember, preparation and respect for the land is key.

Bushdoof.me advocates for safety first and foremost. While we do not endorse the use of illicit substances, we recognize that they may be part of some attendees' experiences. Our commitment lies in providing comprehensive harm reduction information to ensure everyone has the knowledge they need to make informed decisions.

Know Your Substance, Know Your Limits

Everyone's body is different, and the same dose of a substance can have different effects on different people. If you are unsure, start with a small dose and wait for the effects to kick in before taking more. Sites like Erowid.org contain great guidelines for dosing. It's also a good idea to test your substances if possible, kits are not hard to find these days. Ask your local smoke shop!

Stay Hydrated and Cool

It's easy to forget to drink water when you're dancing your pants off all day, but it's important to stay hydrated. If you're going to get on the tins, going one for one with waters will save your head in the morning.

Overheating is super common on a party bender, especially in the Australian summer. Make sure you take breaks during the day and find shade to cool down. Folding fans and water spray bottles make a lot of friends in a sweaty dancefloor.

Stay Safe and Respect your fellow Doofer

Look out for your mates and make sure they're okay. If you see someone who looks like they're in trouble, get help. If you're in trouble, ask for help. There are always people around who are willing to look out for a fellow raver.

Everyone is there to have a good time, so be respectful of others. If someone isn't interested in talking to you, don't push it. If someone is in trouble, help them out. If someone is having a good time, join them!

Leave No Trace

Raving in the bush is a privilege, not a right. Make sure you leave the site as you found it, if not better (let's go tree planters!). Take your rubbish with you and don't leave sh*t behind. If you see someone else's rubbish, pick it up. Together we can ensure that our country maintains its beauty for festivals to come.

Doof Check-list

Here's some options for what to bring to your next doof. Tailor to your lifestyle and explore what else works for you!

The Essentials

These are the absolute must-haves for any doof. If you're missing any of these, you're gonna have a bad time.

The Ultralight Raver

You're agile, fast, like a ninja on the dancefloor and you're probably taking public transport. A hiking backpack and a 1-person tent is all you need to get your fix of fresh TUNES.

The Comfy Camper

You're here for the long haul and you're not afraid to bring some creature comforts. A car/van full of gear and a big tent is more your style.

The Bob and Margaret Special

You're here to party and you're here to do it in style. You've got a winnebago with a bidet and you're not afraid to use it.
